If you’re going for a long holiday trip around the world, Digi has a monthly data roaming pass which offers 30GB of data and 30 minutes of voice calls that can be used in multiple countries. It costs RM95, which is definitely cheaper than subscribing to individual roaming passes for each destination.

If you’re travelling to specific regions, Digi also offers 7-day and 14-day roaming passes as well. The 14-day Asia Pass costs RM75 and it comes with 4GB of data and 60 minutes of calls. Meanwhile, the 7-day pass for the Middle East, Europe and the Americas cost RM50 each, while the 14-day option for each region costs RM75. Before leaving the country, ensure that your phone’s data roaming setting is switched off until your roaming pass is activated and you’re connected to the right telco partner. You can buy the roaming add-on through the MyDigi app before travelling and it will be activated between 12am-2am Malaysia time on the selected date. Alternatively, you can activate the pass by dialling *800*3# on your phone’s dialler when you arrive at the destination. You will receive a confirmation SMS once your roaming pass has been activated and you can proceed to turn on data roaming.
